אֲשֶׁר־בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים לַעֲשׂוֹת

“Which G-d had created to make.”

Bereishit 2:3

Why does the account of creation end with the words “to make”? Because the world we receive still calls on us to act.

The Rebbe explains that Hashem left work to be done in His creation so that human beings could take part in it. A difficulty is therefore more than an obstacle: it may point to the place where our contribution is needed.

We do not have to finish everything today. Yet we can offer something that no one else will do in quite the same way: a mitzvah, practical help, a shared moment of Torah.

Today, choose one small thing to improve around you. Then take that first step. Your part matters.
